RG-9 Rain Sensor

This industrial-grade optical rain gauge uses infrared light beams reflected within a tennis-ball-sized plastic lens. It is maintenance-free, as dirt cannot accumulate on the round surface of the lens. There are also no moving parts that can get stuck, and water paths cannot become clogged.

The RG-9 optical rain sensor is designed to detect and communicate when a pre-selected rain intensity is reached or exceeded. The RG-9 solid-state rain sensor features an open-collector output and a serial RS232 port for requesting more detailed data, including 8 rain intensity levels in near real-time.
